Whilst racking up the mileage as part of my Bristol Half Marathon training, I have spotted many more colourful creatures alongside my runs! I thought it was only right to start mapping out some runs to celebrate Gromit Unleashed coming to Bristol for 10 weeks this Summer. I have created three distances to get you going, 7km as the minimum length going up to 16km, the perfect distances if you need some more drive to get out and about the city doing some runs.

18 Gromit Run – (7.5k) – Easy
Tick off 18 Gromits starting from the College Green by Park Street, cut across the fountains down to Queens Square and then cross over to Redcliffe St and then follow the river until you get to Hotwells. This run is 7.5KM (4 miles) which is a good run to help recover from any longer runs that you may have thrashed out at the weekend.
20 Gromit Run (20k) – Medium
Although you’re ticking off less Gromits. It’s far more scenic than the 18 Gromit Run with much more of a distance. Poetry In Motion, Newshound, Tutan Gromit, Golden Gromit, Sugar Plum, It’s Kraken, Gromit!, Blossom, A Mandrill’s Best Friend, Sheepdog, Ship Shape & Bristol Fashion, Patch, Gromberry, Stat’s the Way to do it, Lad! Being Gromit Malkovich, NewFoundLand, Zodiac, Bark at Ee, Groscar, Hero, Salty Sea Dog back to Poetry in Motion.
21 Gromit Run (21k) – Hard
From Temple Meads to Ashton Court, this really is a great run. Incorporate the hill climb in Ashton Court and you will be fightint to see the last few Gromits! These Gromits may seem far and few at times, but well worth it for the views along the way. Tick off 20 (one inside the Bristol City & Museum) Poetry in Motion, Salty Sea Dog, Canis Major, Malago, Lancelot, Collarful, What a Wind Up!, Isambark Kingdog Brunel, Blazing Saddles, Bunty, Grrrromit, Paisley, Grant’s Gromit, Ship Shape & Bristol Fashion, Sheepdog, Patch, Golden Gromit, Vincent Van Gromit, Tutan Gromit (indoors), Newshound
Pindrop is a neat little app which allows you to pinpoint specific memorable locations based on a Google maps plugin. It can be connected up to Four Square, as well as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest (how it can transfer to Facebook and Twitter – I am awaiting the app creators’ response!). Please check out a list of all the Gromits here, where I have pinpointed all 50 odd which are ‘outdoor’ Gromits.
