I was invited down to DW Fitness to try on a brand spanking new pair of Reebok TR 2.0 Workout trainers to test out by doing a high energy tabata workout.
I’ve been looking for a new pair of gym workout trainers to celebrate the occasion of becoming a Personal Trainer (seemed like the right way to celebrate such a milestone surely?). In the new Reebok TR’s I think I’ve found it.
Does anyone remember the classic Reebok hi-tops straight from the 90s? The following event details arrived at my inbox the other day and it got me visiting the Reebok website after all these years to familarise myself with the latest Reebok sports collection. I was pretty impressed! Reebok have done alot lately to revive their old-school image in order to put them at the heart of multi-functional shoewear. It’s not just the shoewear, the different legging designs and colourful designs put them back up at the top along with Nike and Adidas.
I was interested to know if the shoes would just look pretty or if they’d actually be functional.
I visited DW Fitness, Bristol on a Monday afternoon at 4pm just before the masses headed down post-work to undo the damage from the weekend. I was welcomed by Gemma and Rob upon arrival, who got me setup with a pair of trainers right away. Buying new trainers is sometimes a big risk as you don’t know how they’ll fare up in different fitness activities, so I was pleased to be able to do a complete body workout with these shoes on.
Read on to see what I thought AND to check out the free workout downloadable.
How’d the Reebok TR 2.0 trainers actually rate?
I am pleased to announce that the trainers kept up with me during the whole workout. Here’s photographic evidence of me mid-skip.
This is why I liked the Reebok TR Workout 2.0 trainers:
- I felt the weight was evenly dispersed across my feet when I was doing weighted squats
- My feet didn’t slip when I did mountain climbers, infact, my feet felt snug and secure throughout
- Their lightweight feel was great for cardio activities like skipping and running
- Their black colour and polka dot lace design was pretty slick
The ONLY downsides is, like any shoe, they take a little while for your feet to wear into them so try wearing them around the house or when you’re popping to the shops. I have since read some negative reviews but I didn’t share the same experience, every foot is different though surely?
Reebok have got their feet wedged in the door of technical and functional shoe wear. These workout trainers designed for people who want support, grip and a lightweight feel in their shoe. Just a quick gander on the Reebok website reveals vast collections for cross-fit, running, dance, studio, walking.. the list goes on. The Reebok TR Workout 2.0 trainers are pretty lightweight, they have an upper mesh which keeps your feet nice and ventilated throughout a gym workout.
Full Body – Tabata workout
If you’re short of inspiration for a total body workout then save this workout to your phone and use it for your next workout. Tabata workouts are an awesome way to work at a high intensity for an optimal amount of time, use a watch or Tabata timer (I use Tabata Timer for Android) to keep track off the work / rest intervals.
Let me know how you get on with this workout…!
This is not a sponsored post, but I did receive a free pair of Reebok trainers for my involvement, social media efforts and my enthusiasm.
