I’m Olivia. I am a freelance personal trainer, copywriter and blogger based in Chiswick, London. I’m on a mission to motivate people to achieve prime physical health and mental wellbeing by telling an honest account of my own experiences as a freelancer in London.
I love health, fitness and sport but it doesn’t define me. My world isn’t my gym. Growing up I learnt that I have a superpower which means I can communicate with pretty much anyone, from my driving test instructor to the other passengers in my shared Uber car pool. With this superpower, I have been able to share my experiences with friends to strangers and I’ve learnt the ability to communicate in person and online. In the chaos of life, sport and exercise has played a very functional role in my life; growing up through my teens as a track athlete, turning to long distance running as a form of therapy and most recently, entering in for racing events to help me push my physical and mental limits.
The power to inspire
In turn, I have found I can inspire people around me to do push their own physical and mental limits. This inspiration has driven me to turn freelance as a copywriter, communicating messages for brands and small businesses and to become a personal trainer.
I want to encourage participation in sport and help people find a little nugget of wellbeing whilst managing a busy diary. I became a qualified personal trainer in February 2017 specifically to help the people that lack the confidence to walk into the weights area of the gym or want to feel facilitated by exercise, not held back. My specialities are running, cycling and high intensity body-weight workouts because these activities liberate me and make me feel invincible so this is what I want to pass onto others.
Golden Pulse covers new fitness initiatives, fitness hacks, new group exercise class and workout ideas.
The complexities of mental wellbeing
It’s not just physical health and fitness but mental wellbeing, I write about the way in which I juggle my personal life, career dreams and sporting pursuits and the hurdles I have to jump in order to feel happy and content.
In late 2016, I left full time employment and moved cities from Bristol to London whilst going through a career change. As a freelance copywriter, I am now living my dream by writing for small to medium organisations who have small teams and big dreams. On my own terms, I can create the honest and personal working relationships which I was always praised for in previous roles.
I write about my experiences turning freelance and moving to London, earning money through multiple projects and the journey to self-contentment from the perspective of an anxious girl in her twenties. I am pursuing happiness by making exhilarating life choices and learning to take control of the situations that may have once held me back.
