Lithuanian-born Yulia Stolyarenko agreed on short notice to replace the eliminated Kathleen Vieira and face Russian Yana Kunitskaya in the UFC Fight Night 174 tournament, which will take place on August 8 in Las Vegas.

The replacement was reported by sources close to the situation.

30-year-old Yana kunitskaya in the previous fight broke her own series of two victories, losing by technical knockout to aspen Ladd at the UFC on ESPN 7 tournament in Washington. Before that, the Russian won the decision against Lina Lansberg and Marion Reno.

27-year-old Yulia Stolyarenko in November 2018 unsuccessfully debuted under the UFC banner, losing a split decision to Leah Letson at the TUF 28 Finale tournament in Las Vegas, after which she won four early victories in regional organizations, and in the last match successfully debuted under the Invicta FC banner, getting another chance to gain a foothold in the roster of the largest MMA promotion.

Timur Valiev’s UFC debut canceled

Russian fighter Timur Valiev, declared a participant in the UFC Fight Night 173 tournament, will not be able to make his debut under the banner of the largest MMA promotion this weekend.

Informed sources close to the situation report that the place of the Russian in the event card was taken by a rookie of the organization, Winsten Cachero, who will meet with Jamall Emmers.

The reasons that made Valiev postpone his debut in the UFC are not reported.

Recall that 30-year-old Timur Valiev, known for performances in the organizations WSOF, PFL and GFC, leads a series of six victories, and is a teammate of such fighters as Zabit Magomedsharipov, Frankie Edgar and Eddie Alvarez.

Zabit Magomedsharipov dropped in the UFC rating

Despite the fact that over the past month Zabit Magomedsharipov and Brian Ortega did not enter the octagon, the top fighters of the UFC Featherweight division again changed places in the official rating of the organization.

Magomedsharipov, who a month ago displaced Ortega from the second line, in the updated rating again took third place, passing ahead of the American.

We will remind that the Russian fighter will hold his next fight, which, presumably, should become a contender, on August 29 in Las Vegas, and his opponent will be the Mexican Yair Rodriguez.

As for Brian Ortega, who did not enter the octagon for more than a year and a half, he planned to measure forces with the Korean Zombie, however, the fourth number of the division is in no hurry to sign a contract for the fight.
